In 1983, I began my journey in the appliance service industry. Like many young entrepreneurs, I faced challenges but found growth opportunities. A pivotal moment in my career was attending the United Appliance Servicers Association's (UASA) Appliance Service Training Institute (ASTI). This event introduced me to the industry's vast knowledge and innovation, providing the tools to build a successful business.
Many young professionals find it challenging to access these resources, especially those with financial limitations. In 2017, while receiving the UASA Lifetime Achievement Award, I established the Paul MacDonald ASTI Scholarship Fund to help the next generation of independent service providers succeed.
